What shipped on day one
Buying the game gets you the complete package: four seasons, farming and ranching, turn-based combat, Old Gods allegiances and rituals, mysteries and task chains, romance and marriage. The soundtrack is sold separately (app 5145770, $4.99) rather than bundled. The game is also part of bundles with Look Outside, Bloomtown and Graveyard Keeper, so compare the bundle price if you want more than one.
Why you will find contradictory old articles
The game had a long public development period: a playable alpha demo arrived in October 2024 and was updated through to v0.6.x, while Patreon builds shipped alongside it. That left a large body of 2024–2025 writing that still says “coming soon” or “expected this year”, plus inaccurate third-party posts that also list console platforms. To check the truth, look at two fields only: the Release Date on the Steam store page, and whether the store page can be added to your cart.
How to verify the current status yourself
- Open the Steam store page and check the Release Date field and whether the purchase area is active.
- If your region or cache shows something odd, append
?cc=us&l=englishto force a specific region and language and look again. - For structured data, query Steam’s appdetails endpoint and check whether
release_date.coming_soonis false.
What players and the press say
- Two days after launch the Steam review state was Overwhelmingly Positive: 95% of 530 user reviews positive (checked 2026-09-12). That is the most direct player-side signal, and it will change over time.
- The subreddit filled with launch-day posts such as “Today is the big day!” and “It’s here folks, it’s here!”, with an overall mood of anticipation and excitement.
- The first press wave landed between 2026-09-08 and 2026-09-11, and OpenCritic has collected six outlets for a combined 79.
The above is player sentiment and press judgement, both of which move over time.
Boundary
Console availability is handled on the Switch and Xbox pages; pricing lives on the price page; for how much there is to do, see the beginner guide and the review round-up.
