Welcome to Elderfield Xbox: No Xbox Version or Game Pass
Welcome to Elderfield has no Xbox version and no Game Pass announcement. The platform evidence and what an Xbox player can do instead.
There is no Xbox version, and there is no Game Pass announcement of any kind. Welcome to Elderfield is currently sold only on PC / Windows via Steam, and even IGN’s game page lists PC as the platform. Power Up Gaming’s August 2026 report goes further, stating that the developer confirmed the game has no console release and will be sold through Steam alone.
Evidence, and what cannot be assumed
- Platform field: Steam lists Windows only, and the Microsoft Store has no entry for the game.
- Official wording: the press release and reveal trailer consistently say “PC via Steam”, with no mention of Xbox or Game Pass.
- Game Pass cannot be inferred: joining Game Pass requires a separate deal between Microsoft and the publisher and a Microsoft Store listing. Publisher Kwalee is an independent publisher, not a Microsoft first-party studio, so “they have shipped an Xbox game before” proves nothing about subscription eligibility.
The same standard applies to “unannounced”: “not announced” is not the same as “cancelled”, but until a store page or an official announcement appears, any “Xbox version” or “Game Pass date” claim is a guess.
What an Xbox player can do now
There is no console path for the living room today, which leaves two realistic alternatives:
- Windows PC: buy on Steam; controller support and cloud saves are both included.
- Steam Deck or another Windows handheld: the game is Steam Deck Verified, so you can play it on the sofa with saves shared with your PC.
To wait for an Xbox version, watch the Microsoft Store / Xbox Wire plus the official Bluesky, X, YouTube and Kwalee channels. A store page or a formal announcement is the only signal that it is genuinely planned.
What players and the press say
- In the same subreddit “Console release?” discussion there is no official console plan at all, and players broadly assume a port depends on sales and would take years.
- Power Up Gaming’s August 25, 2026 article is the only source in this check that states plainly there will be “no console release”; this page labels it as a press relay of the developer rather than a direct developer quote.
- On Game Pass: there is no Microsoft Store entry, no announcement from Microsoft or the publisher, and no credible community rumour, so there is no reason to plan around it arriving.
The above is player discussion and press relay, not an official announcement.
Boundary
Switch status is on the Switch page; release and pricing details are on the release date page and the price page.
